As a result, travel is emerging as a powerful way to promote physical and mental well-being while also supporting meaningful experiences across generations.

Travel for Healthy Longevity: Health and Economic Benefits of Multigenerational Travel, a collaboration between nonprofit Transamerica Institute and the Global Coalition on Aging, examines the rise of silver tourism (age 55+) and multigenerational travel through a synthesis of academic and third-party research. The report explores the health, social, and economic benefits of travel while also identifying opportunities where access can be expanded and better meet the needs of travelers across generations.

The report highlights how travel can support healthy aging, increase social connectedness, and contribute to economic growth. It also examines emerging trends, including Baby Boomers’ growing interest in creating memories through travel experiences with other generations as part of their legacy planning, the health benefits for people of all ages, and the barriers to access that may limit some from traveling.
